Turn a Tax Bill into A Scholarship

A new federal tax credit lets taxpayers direct part of what they already owe into a scholarship for a St. Austin student.

Beginning January 1, 2027, up to $1,700 of the federal tax you already owe can help fund a scholarship for a student here at St. Austin. It works like this: give up to $1,700 to an approved scholarship organization, and your federal tax bill drops by the same $1,700. The money was already spoken for; the credit simply hands you the steering wheel. You do not need a child enrolled here to take part, since grandparents, alumni parents, and friends of the school all pay federal tax, and scholarships reach families earning up to three times the area median income.
